| An item on BBC news caught the eye of Blackburn Lions.
It told of a team of surgeons going to India to perform corrective surgery on cleft pallet type disfiguring conditions.
The article told of the cost of surgical gowns costing £3 each which if avoided would mean many more operations could be done.
The idea was to modify old T shirts to become theatre gowns and decorate them with smiles so that the kids could keep them as souveneers after the operations.
Blackburn Lions voted to purchase 100 T Shirts and decorate them for the appeal. The total cost was just under £150 thanks to helpful suppliers.
The photos show Lion Harry taking the shirts to PC World, who had agreed to be a collecting point for what had become a BBC Blue Peter Appeal. |
